Every August, more than 30 tribes of Papua gather at Baliem Valley and perform various dances, music performances to war simulation. The epic performances get more epic with magnificent background of Jayawijaya Mountain.

Hundred of tourists around the world busy capturing moments, portraying landscape even have some snaps on the locals who wore local costume with traditional weapon at hands.

Getting pictures is a must, also understanding the stories behind each perfomance. There are 3 matters that cause war among tribes: women, land and pigs (yes pigs!). But the war is always ended in peace, since it only brake up the unity of Papua tribe.
