Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep Chiang Mai

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is a Theravada Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.

Often referred to as "Doi Suthep," the temple is a sacred site to many Thai people. The name "Doi Suthep" is just the name of the mountain it sits on.

The temple is 15 kilometers (9.3 mi) from the city of Chiang Mai. You can see impressive views of downtown Chiang Mai from the temple.

To visit this amazing temple, you will have to spot any red 4x4; they have individual drivers that will take you up the mountain.

The only thing is the driver needs to wait for the car to be full before he can go.

If you can muster the energy, you can walk up to the top; it might just take you all day to climb up and go back down. Also some very courageous Thai cycle too.

Once you arrive on top of the mountain, you will find more stairs, that's the just entrance of the temple. :)

To finish the climb, you will have to walk 309 steps, it was straightforward to do, everyone can do it, and of course, you can do it too.

Tip: If the car with the driver doesn't fill up, ask them to go anyway, you will pay a little bit more, but not too much, and you will not wait for hours.
