Souks of Medina

Souks

Casually, in the late morning, we were lost in the souks of Medina! Infinite streets that were full of people. There are even shops and barack every meter! I am not joking. Here you can explore all five senses because of the variety of aromas and spices. Your eyes will shine thanks to all the colors of the hundreds of scarves and dresses for sale. The feel of the silk dresses was unlike anything I’ve felt before and you could tell how much work and care went into the crafting of each product. As you walk you will be greeted by the Arabic music being played throughout by the street artists. Don’t be surprised if they ask you for money every two minutes! Make sure not to take your wallet out and expose your money to the lurking crowds as pickpocketing is very common!

Last but not least...the carpets! I highly recommend taking the opportunity to purchase a traditional Moroccan carpet. They are amazing and the quality unlike any other. Imagine your house guests back home admiring your carpet and you getting to say you purchased it in the souks of the medina in Marrakech!

In the souks, they sell also these amazing animals! In the souks, they sell also these amazing animals!

Finally, we come to the taste! The most important part of the Souks of Medina in my opinion. You cannot go wrong stopping along to try the varieties of tajines and couscous, and your stomach will thank you!
