Marrakech, A City Full Of Charm!

I prefer to plan my travels for the entire year and select places with a unique culture and different sights to what I'm used to in Europe. Marrakech in Morocco fulfilled all these expectations and more, an incredible experience and as perfect as can be

When planning a visit to Marrakech, it's essential to book the hotel, or "Riad," well in advance. The most beautiful and well-rated accommodations get fully booked months ahead of time.

I’ll take one of each :) I’ll take one of each :)

I was in Marrakech for four nights and stayed in two different Riads. The first being Riad Olema et Spa, which is beautifully decorated in a typical Moroccan style, full of comfort and charm. The second was the Instagram famous, Riad BE Marrakech. This hotel has two different pools, the dreamiest rooftop terrace, and beautiful rooms.

This town is full of plenty to do and see to fill three full days of sightseeing. On the first day, perhaps visit the Majorelle Gardens. This former home of Yves Saint Laurent tends to get pretty busy, so I suggest to arrive as soon as it opens in the morning or right before closing time. This house is stunning in vivid blue and yellow colors surrounded by fabulous gardens. In the afternoon take a long stroll around the area of the Koutoubia Mosque.

Endless flowers! Endless flowers!

The second day will be a great time to explore the Medina Souks, a perfect place to buy those ideal Moroccan souvenirs. Make sure you have space in your suitcase for the things you will want to bring back home with you. I couldn't resist getting a stunning traditional Moroccan carpet, pillows, porcelain dishes and cups, and gorgeous and super well-priced silver bracelets.

For lunch, I recommend the Restaurant Nomad, as it has delicious food and such glorious views overlooking the Souks. Also, try and visit the Djemaa El Fna.

On your last day, stop by some of the fantastic museums and historical palaces to see some incredible architecture such as the Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and Badi Palace.

When you have more days to spend, I highly recommend a stay in the desert such as the Scarabeo Camp. You can read all about my experience in this desert camp in my previous article, which you can find here on Hero Traveler.

After visiting Marrakech, I look forward to exploring many other fantastic places that Morocco has to offer. It truly is a fascinating journey that I'd recommend to anyone..
