Getting around Cusco

Cusco is a burgeoning ancient city with so much to offer. Many people use it as a jump off point to get to the world famous Machu Pichu but often overlook all the other amazing places that are accessable by a quick cheap bus ride. Archeological sites such as Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Urubamba and more can all be accessed by a cheap shuttle bus if you know where to find them.

Planning a trip to Machu Pichu and have some extra time while you adjust to the altitude? Well head down to Pavitos street where you can get a bus anytime of the day to some amazing locations outside of Cusco. Pavitos street is a 10 minute walk/5 minute taxi ride from Plaza de Armas where you can get a number of “collectivo” busses to the neighboring towns. The busses leave once full but don't expect to wait more than 20 minutes as there are always plenty of people ready to go.
