Siargao Swinging Palm Tree

The most Instagram worthy palm tree on the island!

This is one of the most iconic spots on all of Siargao Island. It is a sort of natural waterpark that is based around the bended palm tree. To enter the ‘waterpark’, you have to pay a conservation fee of 20 PHP (0.40 USD) which includes a guide who helps you climb the palm tree. The exact location of the palm tree is at Maasin Bridge, which is around 30 minutes from General Luna.

Many tourists who come here jump from the midway point of the palm tree. The water at the base of the tree is deep enough to jump into- you will probably see locals doing backflips off the tree. If you want to swing off the tree, the guides will help you climb onto the rope. You can also use the bamboo raft free of charge to take photos on, and the miniature kayak boats usually cost 200 PHP (less than $4 USD) to rent.

Another popular thing to do here is to take a boat ride to the ‘secret lagoon’. This boat ride takes around 20 minutes and will take through a series of mangroves. This activity usually costs around 500 PHP (less than $10 USD).

The swinging palm tree at Maasin Bridge is a popular tourist attraction so be sure to arrive before 8 am to beat the crowds!
