Hiking the Torres del Paine "O" Trek 9/9

Day 9 : Good-bye, Patagonia!

Hiking the Torres del Paine Circuit was a challenge we were all proud to have accomplished. We were proud not just for the physical aspects of the trek, but because all of us had learned so much while hiking.

Nature is a wonderful artist and teacher of life. As for Patagonia, it is a true masterpiece and this circuit is, in my opinion, the best way to admire its beauty. The beauty is everywhere: in the snow-capped mountains, in the remote valleys, in the ice fields, in the sky and in the lakes. These landscapes are a reminder of what the whole planet was like centuries ago, before humans started building concrete jungles everywhere.

Goodbye Torres del Paine! Goodbye Torres del Paine!

This experience was a way for me to get back to the roots. I will never forget it. As we were leaving Patagonia, I took a last look at the impressive mountain range. It lived up to its reputation, and not only for its beauty. The Torres del Paine Circuit is a challenging experience in one of the planet’s most beautiful places, and if you are okay with hiking up to 10 hours a day, I would definitely recommend that you do it.
