Barcelona, Spain

The best architecture and hidden sights!

Barcelona is truly an amazing city, from the stunning architectural works of Gaudi to the delicious paellas, this city has a lot to offer. Perfect for a weeks getaway and a short flight from popular cities in Europe, Barcelona is the perfect European city to branch off to on your Europe trip. Peak times, like most cities, is during the summer but that doesn’t mean you can’t find some quiet locations. Some locations that are visually stunning and low profile are; The Gothic Quarter, La Pedrera, Santa Maria Del Mar Church, and the Placa Real. These locations aren’t necessarily isolated but they will be the most peaceful and the least populated most of the time. I wanted to highlight the Gothic Quarter because of how vast it is. The Gothic Quarter is an area of the city just south of the famous Sagrada Familia, it is characterized by its narrow streets and tall buildings. There you will see many apartments with colorful clothes hanging out to dry and locals sitting outside and conversing. You can easily get lost in these streets but a good kind of lost because at every corner and turn you can find an amazing building or structure.
