Shirakawago

World Heritage Village - My dream place to visit

”Not only the village is beautiful but also the way to there“ ”Not only the village is beautiful but also the way to there“

I and my friend arrived Haneda Airport and took trains to Shirakawa on the first day. It took several hours but was worth enough to go.

We arrived Shirakawa in late afternoon. Due to winter, stuffs and long journey, we decided to take a rest at our booked guest house and visit the village the next day morning.

(To confess, we did not know that the village was just next to the bus station ><)

The next day, we left the guest house and walked to Shirakawa village.

There were lockers at the station. Only 100Yen coins are applicable.

Just turn left from the station, you will arrive the village.

The village is nice and easy to walk around.

Don't forget to try grilled beef. The hot meat in winter is always perfect!

If you have a plan to next city, I would recommend to buy a ticket once arrive, so you can plan the time back to the station. The official recommened to be back at least 10 minutes before time.
