Crate Cafe

Hearty plates for great prices

If you don’t recognise the open-aired café from its industrial design, then maybe the long queue eager to order their food will be the clue you need that you’ve found Crate Café

Open since 2014, the Canggu café’s growth in popularity forced them to move to their spacious premises with rice paddy field views. The stylish interior is simple but on trend; local art, wooden crate furniture and glass table tops that showcase memorabilia of pictures past and present of guests who have spent entire afternoons at Crate.

This café draws in tourists and expats with its warehouse-inspired ambiance. The lack of walls allows natural sunlight to stream in to the café, however, not to worry if you can’t handle the Balinese humidity. Next door Crate Café has an air-conditioned lounge.

Instagram helped spread the word with their picturesque dishes. And the popularity increased because the food at this lively café is full of flavour. There’s so much choice on their vegan-friendly menu. Everything is served in large portions and is good value, with nothing over RP55,000, such as the hearty Wuddup falafel style meals or the healthy smoothie bowl options.

From bringing in a DJ on the weekends or creating new “Insta-worthy”dishes, Crate Café constantly tries to combine different experiences to create good vibes..
