A small city on the sea in the province of Naples

Do you like pasta? Yes? That’s what I thought! Among other things, everybody thinks “spaghetti” when it comes to Italy, and they are quite right. Today, I will tell you about Torre Annunziata, a city in the province of Naples which has historically been a pillar for pasta production since 1800.

Modern pasta factories were all over the place and were the birthplace of the most important brands of pasta in the world, including Voiello and Setaro.

Nowadays, it’s not so likely to see pasta drying in the streets like in the good old days, but Torre Annunziata still offers a good meal and a pretty view. Located near to the sea, a few kilometers away from Pompeii, Torre Annunziata seems like a place where time stopped moving a long time ago. Its traditions and folklore are still very deep-seated in peoples’ minds. Torre Annunziata seems nostalgic for its past glory and rich history, yet it smiles for the sunshine and the black beaches directly offered from Vesuvius, the big and quiet volcano which covers the town with its huge shadow.
