Austin Stole My Heart

And I Wasn’t Ready

When it’s night in the city

I went to Austin in for a conference. I knew it would be weird, but i never thought it would steal my heart.

When I wasn’t stuck inside, I spent my time in Austin just walking around and seeing what I could find. I stumbled into great food, quirky stores and about a million people trying to change the world.

I met a deaf man who sold metal Batman buttons on the bridge that about 300 people gather on at sunset to watch the bats come out from hiding. The back of the button, he pinned the ASL alphabet and encouraged people to try to speak with him.

I ate at a restuart full of music history and had some of the best cornbread I’ve ever had.

Everyone was biking, running, walking or doing some sort of physical activity. Because of this I got to meet the CUTEST St. Bernard puppy in all of the land while he was going on his daily walk.

But my favorite part of the entire trip was kayaking on the river and looking back at the crazy city.

Kayaking with a view Kayaking with a view

I wasn’t expecting to fall in love when I left for this trip, but great things happen when you least expect it.
