All Points West Distillery, NJ

The All Points West distillery recently opened in Newark, NJ’s Ironbound district. In addition to tours, they also serve amazing cocktails with their own whiskey, gin and vodka.

Order a cocktail before your personal tour, I had the Caiprioska and it was so good!

The tour begins with a quick history of the city and overview of how malt content in whiskey evolved as the taxes changed.

Combination of Irish and German malt.

All Points West uses a combination of Irish and German malt to honor the historic communities who built the neighborhood.

Did you know whiskey is clear before it is aged in a charcoal charred barrel?

Before the alcohol is put into a barrel, it is clear!

The inside of the barrel has the same charred surface as this cork.

The alcohol is aged in the barrel and gets its flavor from the wood.

How the vodka is made.

All Points West filters their vodka through a combination of bone and charcoal.

The final product!

Black Bone vodka, Cathouse gin and All Points whiskey are all available for sale in the distillery and at some local vendors like Cork and Green Room across the river in Harrison, NJ.
