Lake Bled

Lake Bled has become one of the most popular travel destinations on Instagram over the past few years, and it’s easy to see why. This picturesque lake is set in the Slovenian countryside, and it’s a perfectly peaceful refuge if you’re looking for a relaxing day (or overnight) trip in Slovenia.

It took around an hour to get to Lake Bled from Ljubljana via a public bus, which was easy to get tickets to at the central bus station. Once you’re in Bled, you can walk around the beautiful lake for great views of the church on the island in the middle of the lake! I recommend renting one of the rowboats to explore the lake from the water if the weather is nice!

We also took a hike up into the hill overlooking the lake, and this gave us amazing views of the lake and the town of Bled! Even though the hike was a bit treacherous at point (with steep inclines and drop offs), it was totally worth the view! I loved stopping in cafes along the lake to enjoy the views of the water with a coffee or a drink! I recommend spending at least a full day in Bled so you have time to really enjoy the area!
