The Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz

Our favourite highlights from San Fransisco

Golden Gate bridge from Baler Beach

I spent two weeks in America with my girlfriend and out of those weeks we were in an airplane almost every second day. Crazy, I know. We had the mad idea of going from Boston to San Fran to Las Vegas to Los Angeles then to New York. That's from east to west and back to the east in 14 days. Surprisingly the traveling didn't wear us out at all during the trip but when we got home that’s when it hit us. One of the places that really stood out for me was the city of San Francisco. The Golden Gate Bridge in San Fran was also truly remarkable due to the large scale of the bridge and visiting Alcatraz was an unbelievable experience on its own.

There is also this place called pier 69, which is  a pier of literally full of grown sea lions just laying around. The beautiful thing is that they are in the wild and they are free. It’s so beautiful to just watch them in their natural habitat. It was actually so funny because there was one sea lion just laying on his platform all to himself and there were another 2 who kept battling it out. When one of them got onto the platform the other would try push him/her off. The seal that was laying there and sleeping would sometimes just lift its head look at what’s happening and then lay his down again. It was such a funny encounter.
