Peaks Of Visocica

With Highlander Adventures

Eagle view

The most beautiful and exhilarating project in which I took part since I’ve started filmmaking. Walking through Bosnia with the most experienced and crazy hike company in the Balkans!

It was a very intense summer. A month spent in the mountains where I had the opportunity to disconnect, and discover the most remote places in Bosnia and learn a lot of its history .. yes, because I come from here. From Bosnia. And today I am very happy to show you this small but big movie that I have dedicated a lot of time, energy and work. I'm proud of it.

special thanks goes to @highlander adventures and to the best guide, but now one of my best friends @kenan .. without you I would not have achieved all this! This is just the first of many videos and projects that we will shoot together!

Everything started from a simple email .. then Kenan replies, the guide .. hey, do you want to film our experiences with the most beautiful and crazy hike company of Bosnia? I didn't hesitate for a moment .. I immediately said yes and I left for this crazy experience!

So, after this call, I arrive in the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo, keno picks me up with other 3 Chinese people with us. Very nice and one more docile than the other! We broaden our knowledge .. obviously the initial idea was to go and climb to the Treskavica lake .. but the long 8 hour journey would not have held up. So we chose to climb the peaks of Mount Visocica!

It was a tremendous heat .. above 40! After an hour and a half drive that looked like a rally, keno tells us that we have arrived. We prepare the stuff, boots, pegs, and off we go.

Personally, I had never climbed before now ..! Think how stupid, and what I've been missing to date!

Well what to say, the experience started at the top .. the landscapes were starting to get very interesting, and my camera was crazy about it! Breathtaking landscapes, while behind us are the old war paths .. used by the Bosnian army to face Serbian lines beyond the borders!

Our Italian hiker.. Our Italian hiker..

After 3 hours of walking, we take the first break in a wood .. I don't tell you how much I sweated ... keno did not miss his talent as a chef of nature .. in fact he delighted us with numerous plants and edible spices of the season! It is the best guide in Bosnia! Without a doubt .. after a long morning spent climbing, we reached the top! And I was expecting nothing more than this moment .. the moment to take off my drone and shoot breathtaking videos! After the drone session, we remained two hours lying on the lawn.. someone it was reading a book and enjoying the fresh air, and others sleeping.. or even like me, who went two kilometers to fetch water, all accompanied by sheep and thirsty wild horses!

Relaxing.. Relaxing..

When we left, we came across a truly incredible character! A man who made himself the route Italy-Bosnia by walk to climb the Via Dinarica! Really crazy! Only with his backpack and a compass! Obviously I discovered that he is Italian and he is from Milan! After this meeting, the sun starts to set .. and what better than to sit and enjoy the red and orange colors of the sky? So we took some pictures here and there, and we left for the descent which lasted about 5 hours.

When the journey was over, we came across a very nice and welcoming local farmhouse where we met again our traveling friend and we had dinner together! How many good memories guys !!

You can reach the mountain either

1.from Konjic (via Boracko Lake and further on to village Bjelimici or Grusca) or

2. from Sarajevo (via Lukavica, Krupac, Babin do, village Sabici till Sinanovici). Just close to the village Sinanovici, to the left, is situated mountain hut od Mountaineering society Treskavica (former school). Two marked trails lead from there - one to the left to peak Vito (cca 1950 nm). It takes approx. two hours to reach the peak. From Vito you need cca 3 hours to reach the highest peak of Visocica (Dzamija) ....
