Staying At Melia Cala Galdana!

In addition to the blog I just posted about Menorca, I will tell you now all about my absolute favorite hotel on the island.

To me, where you stay is one of the essential things on holiday. It’s difficult to fully enjoy a trip if you don’t like and feel comfortable with where you sleep every night.

Although Menorca is a small island, there are still plenty of hotel choices. I wanted to stay as close as possible to the beach, and preferable to the best ones the island has to offer. That was the reason behind my Choice of Melia Cala Galdana, which is a beautiful 5-star hotel.

Best balcony views! Best balcony views!

Its location is just perfect. It is located on the Cala Galdana beach, which is one of the most beautiful beaches on the whole island and a dream to swim in its warm and crystal blue waters. It’s also just a small stroll to Cala Galdana town, where you can find several great restaurant options.

This hotel has somewhat of a different concept. There are regular rooms and a second category called The Level. Staying in one of The Level rooms gives you several additional free privileges, which in my opinion, are definitely worth the slightly higher price. One of the extra perks is access to their infinity pool, only for Level clients. This pool area was never crowded and had the most magical view over the ocean.

Another perk I loved is the fact that they serve free tapas on the 8th floor twice a day. The tapas changes every day and were delicious. They also come with wine, champagne and other beverages which are all free of charge as well.

Infinity pool! Infinity pool!

Although I had a rental car during my stay, while staying at the Meliá, I didn’t use it at all. This is because everything is in such an easy walking distance. Some of the best beaches in Menorca are just a 20-30 casual walk away. My favorites were Cala Mitjana, Cala Macarella, and Macareletta.

If I had to name one thing about this hotel that is the most memorable, I would have to say the view from my room. I stayed on the 8th floor, and the views from my balcony were over the Cala Galdana beach. Each evening I would enjoy sitting here with a nice glass of Spanish wine, watching the sunset giving the most magical show of colors across the sky.
