Where to Eat and Drink on Phi Phi Island

As much as we loved the incredibly stunning and picturesque Phi Phi Island, it was surprisingly expensive compared to the rest of Thailand, for example, the MacDonalds at the edge of the pier when you get off the fastboat serves cappucinos for THB150, equivalent to $7 AUD. But fret not! Here’s a list of lovely restaurants you can try for a reasonable price. Just a warning - most places on Phi Phi accept cash only, and the ATMs charge a whopping fee of THB220 just to draw money (around $10AUD).

Green House Rooftop Restaurant - Traditional Thai food overlooking the ocean with local prices. I had vegetarian green curry for around THB 60. There are more of it’s kind along the beach nearby if the menu doesn’t tickle your fancy. Tell them your hostel is Freedom Hostel and they’ll give you 20% off your meal, Shhhhh…

Banana Bar - Serving yummy Western food and Thai food too, they have a rooftop with a stunning sunset view, and even an open air cinema on Friday nights! We shared Nachos for THB 140.

Stones Bar for drinks - mostly great for the vibe and the location. The drinks are averagely priced - between THB 100 - 200 but it’s right on the beach and you can lounge on their cushions during the day, and watch the fire shows at night.
